Inspiring DARE Project meeting

The two-day meeting of board and participants of the European funded DARE-project was organized on 19-20 April in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

On April 19th the project board discussed and decided upon all issues related to the European research and development of the database of convicted and deceased terrorists.

Also, all European training issues of the improved VERA-2R were discussed. After a whole day of productive discussions, the European participants arrived.

The formal meeting fluently shifted to an informal get together, followed by an excellent dinner in one of Utrecht most historic venues along the canals.

Participating countries

On April 20th contact persons of participating countries were informed. Invited were France, Germany (10 States), Belgium, Sweden, Austria and off course the Netherlands as hosting country.

Participants

Michel Groothuizen, the NIFP general director, welcomed all participants and applauded the project and its objectives and aspirations.

DARE project leader Nils Duits took over and informed the participants on the status quo of the project.

Other presentations were held on research, privacy aspects and training issues. All country specific issues were addressed.
