All professionals, trained in the VERA-2R in Europe and other continents, can now use manuals in their own language to improve their violent extremist risk assessment.
The usability of the VERA-2R is improved with lead and extra questions for qualitative information.
11 additional indicators have been added on non-violent criminal history, personal history and mental disorders, that all relate to violent extremism.
The criteria of the five existing domains have been improved:

- Social context and intention
- History, action and capacity
- Commitment and motivation
- Protective and risk-mitigating indicators.
The VERA-2R is used worldwide and is implemented in Europe, as a structured professional judgment approach. It is applicable for the assessment of risk of violent extremism and terrorism and for risk trajectories of men, women and youth.
The VERA-2R can be used to assess, monitor and manage risk changes of violent extremism over time.
